Product Description |
| Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. The fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.2 million units on the first day. |

Bella Lullaby, As Heard IN The Movie...
|
| Review Date: April 8, 2009 |

| To those who have read the other reviews, and to those who've WRITTEN reviews about this SOUNDTRACK: If you're looking for the version of BELLA LULLABY that was played by Edward Cullen/ Robert Pattinson in the movie, buy the SCORE to the movie, not the SOUNDTRACK. The score is the songs and sound clips from the movie, the soundtrack is the edited and fine tuned versions of the songs in the movie plus some songs inspired by it. |
It took a couple listens, but...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this soundtrack. I'm 25 and not as into alternative music as I used to be, and at first I was a little put off by the obscurity of a couple of the groups presented. I hated the Muse song & the Perry Farrell song, and didn't care for the rest of them. I contented myself listening to the Mutemath & Paramore songs over and over. Gradually though, I broke out of my rut and the rest of the album snuck in, track by track. I have listened to it nonstop since the day it came out. I am rereading Twilight now and it seems a little more real because almost every song on the soundtrack is so atmospheric, but with an edge.
A couple notes:
Check out Bella's Lullaby composer Carter Burwell's blog. He tells the story of how the song was born, and how he never wanted it to be called Bella's Lullaby, because he wrote it as 'Love Theme'. He talks of the studio wanting a sweet little piano piece, which he could not provide. He never intended for the whole piece to become the Lullaby and feels that it will inevitably disappoint those expecting the sweet, simple piano melody.
Rob Pattinson's music is not a highlight here. I was impressed by his talent, and agree wholeheartedly with the comparisons to Jeff Buckley. However, there is not much substance here, and his great vocal talent is lost under his mumbling. It fits in with the soundtrack because it is so atmospheric, but try to remember that he is not an experienced recording artist.
Bottom line: You are missing out if you don't get this soundtrack. |

| I thought the producer did an excellant job choosing this soundtrack. As stated by Stephenie, Muse was one of her inspirations for writing and I can see why, it's amazing! |
Makes you feel young, even if you're not

| Loved the soundtrack, I wish the other song by Robert Pattinson (where Bella is dying) was included. |
